Shirts

I forgot to call attention to our cool shirts! A friend of ours goes to a school in Ohio called Wilson. Their mascot is the wildcat and the shirst are UK blue. We decided that was perfect for our family so had her get us one for each member. The shirts say Wilson Wildcats. They are great for when I am taking the four kids somewhere by myself because I can pick them out easily in a crowd (-: I actually bought them a size larger than i meant to- L is wear D's, B is wearing L's and Bj is wearing B's! Room to grow, I guess.

Reds Game

My Great Uncle was kind enough to allow us to use his tickets for two Reds games. The seats are in the box seats just to the left of home plate. Up close to the action. In both games someone next to us caught a foul ball. The first game was a double date with our best friends so we got to enjoy the entire game (grandparents were watching the children so no worries there). We had a great time. The second game I took my three oldest children. I was only willing to attempt this because of the great parking that came with the tickets! Didn't have to walk far at all. I was also thankful for the rain because it kept the crowd down. We had about a 40 minute rain delay but the temp was great for the game. Thank goodness for peanuts! The children spent most of that time standing around shelling them. The game was a good one, but we had to leave at the 5th because there was just enough light left that I felt safe heading back to the van (9pm) and two of the kiddos have school today. Braden said his favorite moment was seeing an Astro's outfielder make a sliding catch. Bj loved it all. Lauren really enjoyed the fireworks that went off when the Reds scored a homerun. I loved that the children stayed in their (or my) chairs for the majority of the game so that I could watch it too!
ps - I think Braden gets his fashion sense from his daddy! He started out with blue fuzzy spiderman socks that went to his knees (winter slipper socks). I talked him out of that only to find he had traded them for navy blue socks. I gave up at that point.

Braden had his preschool graduation last night. Both Grandmas and Grandpa came to see him. The kids did some cute songs. Braden was very proud of himself for not sitting this time. At one point (before putting on the caps/gowns) he started stripping. Thankfully the bottons on his jacket were hard to undo and his zipper tie was held on by the collar buttons. He certainly tried!

Can't Wait Until School Is Out!!!!!!!!!

Met with B's school teacher, counselor, psychologist, and student teacher yesterday. I think we got a lot accomplished. They have several new things they will be putting in place once he is feeling better (all four children currently have strep). Hopefully we will find something that works. His desk is now in a isolated area - he used to have the option of isolating himself when he wasnt' getting his work done. Now he has to earn to have his desk moved back. His desk will also have 'flaps' to keep from visual distractions. They also have a pager type thing that vibrates every 2 minutes to remind him to stay on task. I am open to anything at this point, but sad it took this long to get them to put things in place. They did say the will give him priority seating to keep him at the front of the class and priority on the teacher I had requested for him. We all agree that this teacher will (hopefully) be the best fit for him. They did not say that he has ADD or ADHD. Guess Ben and I got our point across the last time they tried that one! The term used this time was 'Attention Difficulties'. As I was leaving his teacher offered to refer him into the "Talent Development and Gifted Studies" group either at our local college or at their school (if it is offered due to cutbacks). Blows my mind that she realizes his potential yet has taken until the end of the year to get her to do anything!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
